I have been building up physical dollars(FRN's) as well.

This is a really screwed up world.

I have a serious issue with digital dollars as well. Especially ones in 401k's. I have reduced my contributions to the minimum match and hoarding the rest into savings.

I have been increasingly reading about stuff the government might try to pull with retirem ent accounts...ie forced treasury purches etc.

The metals trade as I said looks bubbly to me. Who is going to have the cash to give you $3000 an ounce if TSHTF.

I understand why people flock to it but I don't really see how it helps if things get really bad.

The government could easily confiscate it or restrict its price like they did in the 1930's.

I think food and fuel might be just as valuable.

The government is getting more desperate by the day which is a scary thought.

It sounds like you have protected yourself the best you can so all we can do now is ride out the storm.

Best of luckJeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04450070920047311928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492542366661862113.post-2372259530312986362011-07-28T14:52:38.881-07:002011-07-28T14:52:38.881-07:00Jeff:

I really am hoarding PHYSICAL greenback cash, too much is not enough. Cah is good because not only can you pay the rent, you can buy physical metal same day...

I have physical gold and silver, wont be selling either here. I am hedging the position with very long SLV/GLD puts that speculate we will go right back to where we started: J2013 SLV 20 Put and GLD j2013 90 Put, still both under a buck ea for over 500 days.. thats a long time, these will be longs.

I have some october crash puts, specifically on SLV, starting @ 25 down to 20. cheap, so i can have a large position. Only the 25 moved up a penny today.. one more leg down (like a debt ceiling announcement) could double them.

I am holding a very short term gold bear DZZ and watching it very closely. I want to make money if gold starts breaking down. Dzz is so beat down there will be some resillience to the appreciating gold price if Im wrong.

No equity stocks. Alot of digital cash, which im not entirely comfortable with.

Outside of hedging the physical metals and keeping phys cash, this is the only way i can sleep at night.

I hope you keep posting regularly, as we need your insight more than ever now, as i said before.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6492542366661862113.post-40279981486411437932011-07-28T14:40:15.478-07:002011-07-28T14:40:15.478-07:00good to see you jeff.
